What are the Whatuni student reviews?

Find out all about Whatuni reviews, what they are, how they are collected and how you can contribute

What are Whatuni reviews?

Whatuni is the sister site to the Complete University Guide. The student reviews on the Whatuni website and app are a core part of what it does. These reviews are unbiased, honest, and written by real students, giving prospective students the full picture when deciding what and where to study.

How can prospective students benefit from student reviews?

It’s not always easy to make a judgment just by looking through a university prospectus. Student reviews offer an extra resource when finding an uni that's right for you.

University reviews can give you answers to questions you hadn’t got around to asking and let you explore aspects of a university experience you may not have even considered.

Whatuni reviews show the best and worst in each category, so depending on what you want to gain from your university experience, you can find out everything from how big or small class sizes are to what sports facilities are available and how often students get tutorials with faculty members.

How do I find student reviews?

All reviews are listed on Whatuni’s 'Read reviews' page. You can use the search and filter bars at the top of the page to find specific institution course reviews. You can also filter by keywords, meaning your search results will only show reviews that mention specific things.

The reviews cover a broad range of topics; you can get information on how a university equips its students for the future, how well it supports students' experiences, or how it scores for teaching.

If you read a review on the website and want to know more about a specific university, you can go straight to the uni’s profile. There you can find more information on what the university has to offer, including course fees and accommodation prices. You can also order prospectuses, book a place at an open day, and request more information from the university.

How does Whatuni use its student reviews?

As well as helping prospective students, the Whatuni student reviews contribute to the annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs). These awards are a celebration of the best universities and higher education institutions in the UK.

The awards give useful insights into student satisfaction rates across different areas, as well as vital information about how different aspects of university life can impact each other.

The student reviews that Whatuni collects every year make these awards possible and help future generations of students find the right course and university. If you want to help future students and leave a review about your student experience, then simply head to the review page.

Why should you leave a review?

  • You’ll help other prospective students make informed decisions. Your review can provide valuable insights into the university's academics, social life, resources, and overall culture. This can help prospective students decide if the university is a good fit for them.
  • Your review can help the university identify areas where it can improve. If lots of students complain about the same thing, the university may be able to make changes to address those concerns.
  • You could connect with other alumni. Leaving a review can be a great way to connect with other alumni who have had similar experiences. You can share memories, offer advice, and support each other.
  • Whatuni offers prizes and rewards for leaving your valuable review.
