Who comes out on top in the East Midlands?
2024 sees Loughborough keep its top spot, with Nottingham and Leicester remaining second and third. Nottingham Trent moves up one to fourth, as does De Montfort in seventh. Lincoln and Northampton both move down one place in 2024. Derby and Bishop Grosseteste stay the same in sixth and ninth position.

Nottingham, famous for the legend of Robin Hood and nearby Sherwood Forest, is a great choice for literature lovers and sports fans. Leicester, also big on sports, hosts festivals from many cultures and is thus full of variety from food to music and shopping,
Derby is a fantastic place to live if you want to explore the great outdoors with the Peak District national park close by. While Lincoln, home to Lincoln Uni and Bishop Grosseteste, has a magnificent mix of historic features dating back to its Roman roots.
